Rehearsal: Maddie & Mattie

What a joy to spend even more time with the families of Maddie&Mattie in Bellevue, NE before the big day i! From a spunky nana, foxy dog and melting glasses all wrapped in rainbow cake-I am pretty sure a rad time was had by all.

I felt so blessed to not only get to be a part of it, but to document it! While editing, I kept thinking how fun this would be to look back on years after they are married. To see what the familiar house, the smiles of people during that time-let alone the clothing styles. I'm pretty sure it's something I want done for my wedding as well.

Well enough of my prattling on.

father&daughter: honey flower soup (nate + bella)

As a big daddy's girl myself, this shoot was so exciting to me from the get go! The beautiful Carmen Stunkenholtz , Bellevue hair stylist and jewelry maker  (fabulous by the way~!) gave this shoot to her boyfriend Nate for fathers day last year. Look for her cameo in the end! What a genius idea, I wish my mom would have done something like that for me and my pop (someday perhaps!).

To say Bella was sassy and in charge, not a lot unlike a certain photographer, would be an understatement. I felt like I was challenging the younger Britni during this whole shoot. Being a complete clown one minute, then a serious fierce super model the next!! What a treat.

The shoot is named after a cute story Bella was telling on the way home, inspired probably from the last part of the shoot. 'Twas perfect for the whole feel. Warm. Nostalgic. And fanciful.

Bookworms, 'Skers and flowers alike, ENJOY!

expecting: timaree goertzen + brynlee grace

My second maternity shoot this year was one I have been looking forward since before the couple even knew me! One of my best friends (Natalie....now miss Natalie Fowler-can't wait to show y'all the wedding pictures) sister, Timaree's news of a baby girl on the way inspired Natalie and I to for sure have me to do the shoot! Half a year later, we created something beautiful along side Timaree and Jonathan.

So many prayers and love have been forwarded to this couple, and I felt so blessed to be apart of that love and prayers in the form of a beautiful maternity shoot!

Thank you.

engaged: maddie & mattie's balloon bazaar part 1

I first met Madison Simmons back when I was living in the dorms, we were both attending Berean Church in Lincoln, Ne at the time. From the second I saw this girl, I knew we would be friends. I was more than right. This girl is now one of my favorite beings in this college town. A beyond talented creative graduate in Textiles and Fashion, with enough energy to keep up and sometimes exceed me. A joyful smile for every story, and a loving hand for every tear.

 I love this girl.

So needless to say, when she found her significant other in Matthew Creech-I was beyond excited. Not only to see her start out her life with an equally creative and friendly creature, but OH MY GOSH I was GOING to do some kind of weddding/engagement shoot for them hands down. So imagine my sheer JOY when we decided on it.

When I first picked up the lens again a few years ago, Madison was my choice subject for a pretty succesful local Fashion shoot with one of my other dear friends (I hope to post that sometime later for a flashback friday). Madison barely needs any instruction when the glass is fixed on her-it's so much fun! I was equally excited when Matthew himself wasn't too far from that gift. I LOVED IT!

SO without FURTHER ado, part 1 of Maddie & Mattie's Balloon Bazaar Engagement shoot:

duffy's tavern - musical charis, orion walsh, bolzen beer band

I ran into Musical Charis off of main street in Houston, TX. Oddly enough I was visiting my hometown + grandparents during spring break this year. While strolling down the street my friend and I were constantly being called to come into and listen to the set. We finally gave in, and were beyond pleased. Turned out that one of the artist they were touring with, Orion Walsh, is one of Lincoln's own sons.

Well we had to stay then.

It was a crazy St. Patrick's day show, euipped with drunk middle-aged women. Turned out the main singer got a black eye from a flying mic projected by the khaki-clad shamrock bearing 70-something. Good times. Found out they were having a show in Lincoln one month later. Needless to say. I had to go.

I figured I'd return the favor of a delightful earful x 2 with a hopefully equally awesome eyeful in photos.

Three bands played for Orion Walsh's Ep release of First by Water, Then By Fire. Musical Charis (minus a few members that I saw in Houston), Orion Walsh, and Lincoln's hee-larious Bolzen Beer Band.
